Caustic soda, chemical name sodium hydroxide, white translucent flake solid, is the basic chemical raw material, widely used in paper making, synthetic detergent and soap, viscose fiber, rayon and cotton fabrics and other light textile industry, pesticide, dye, rubber and chemical industry, petroleum drilling, refining petroleum oil and oil and refining tar oil industry, As well as national defense industry, machinery industry, wood processing, metallurgy industry, pharmaceutical industry and urban construction. It is also used in the manufacture of chemicals, paper, soap and detergent, rayon and cellophane, the processing of bauxite to alumina, and the mercerization of textiles, water treatment and so on.
Caustic soda, scientific name sodium hydroxide, should be stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse. Should be away from fire, heat source. The temperature of the library does not exceed 35 °C, and the relative humidity does not exceed 80%.
The packaging must be sealed and protected from moisture. It should be stored separately from easy (combustible), acids, etc., and mixed storage should be avoided. Storage areas should be equipped with suitable materials to contain spilled materials.
There are two methods of industrial production of sodium hydroxide: causticization method and electrolysis method, and the caustic method is divided into soda ash causticization method and natural alkali causticization method according to different raw materials; The electrolysis method can be divided into diaphragm electrolysis method and ion exchange membrane method.
