One of the basic chemical raw materials. Used in textile, printing, detergent, paper, soap, metallurgy, glass, printing and dyeing industry enamel, refining, tar products purification, synthetic fiber production, plastic, wood processing, machinery industry and many other industries.
NAOH can be used as an alkaline cleaning agent in water treatment, soluble in ethanol and glycerol; Insoluble in propyl alcohol, ether. It also corrodes sodium carbon at high temperatures. Disproportionation reaction occurs with halogens such as  iodine. Neutralize with acids to form salt and water.
